This months newsletter is a bit late, which tells you that I’ve been busy! What’s…
Christmas at Korimako
This week I enjoyed a visit from a Californian couple who spotted my sign on the main road and called in to check out Korimako.
They spent the best part of an hour chatting with me about lots of different things and enjoying my paintings. As we chatted they deliberated about buying a print. They explained that they’re driving around the South Island and concerned about damaging an artwork. Easily sorted – I took it out of its mat and safely wrapped it inside a tube . They were surprised that I was happy to do that for them! I was surprised that they were surprised 🙂
Can do is so much more satisfying than can’t do. So often these days customers ( especially online) give up when they meet inflexible situations. The personal touch and attention to what people actually need will never go out of fashion.
If I make a New Years resolution – (and I often either forget to or promptly forget what it was!) – it’ll be to be kinder to people. I need to listen more and try to be more “can do” .
The world has been a tough place for so many during 2024 and I truly believe that while global issues might be out of our scope to fix , we can all make a difference by practising random acts of kindness to those we meet each day.
However you choose to celebrate Christmas I hope that you have a peaceful and happy time with family and friends, and that 2025 is a wonderful year for you.
Thank you for your support during the past year and please come and visit if you’re passing.
Korimako will be closed Christmas Eve / Christmas Day for family time and open most other days – but please feel free to text 0212155631 or email janthomsonart@gmail.com , check that I’m about if you are driving up to the lake.
Happy Christmas and all the best for a great 2025, Jan 🙂
